Winding along Highway 3 from Abbotsford to Osoyoos, you’ll find yourself in the beautiful South Okanagan wine region. Jasper National Park is a four-hour drive from Edmonton heading into the Canadian Rockies. The quaint town of Jasper has a number of shops and accommodations to explore as you plan a multi-day adventure in nature. In the summer, there are plenty of outdoor activities to do in the Athabasca River Valley including the Jasper Sky Tram,Extensive hiking trails, rafting and other activities on the water. There is no better spot to view natural wildlife than within Jasper National Park, where you can see moose, deer, caribou, elk, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, bears and a host of other animals in their natural habitat.
A two-hour drive from downtown Halifax, the Bay of Fundy is a natural wonder that is best seen in person. Over 160 billion tonnes of water move in and out of the 320 km long Bay of Fundy daily creating the highest recorded tides in the world in-between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. In Nova Scotia, head to Cape Chignecto Provincial Park,Burntcoat Head Parkor the beach at Joggins Fossil Cliffs UNESCO World Heritage Site to see this natural phenomenon. When planning your visit, be sure to check the Bay of Fundy tide times to know the best time to visit for high-tide to see it filled with water or in low-tide to walk along the ocean floor.
There are a number of attractions to explore throughout Niagara Parks as you plan your trip to Niagara Falls. Beyond The Falls, White Water Walk allows you to explore this region through a pathway beside the Niagara River’s Class 6 white-water rapids. The Journey Behind the Falls explores behind 130-year-old tunnels through the bedrock giving you a breathtaking view of Horseshoe Falls. For an areal view, Whirlpool Aero Carsoars over the Niagara Gorge spectacular views of the swirling Niagara Whirlpool and white water rapids of the Niagara River as it crosses over the Canadian and American border. Be sure to also head into the historic town of Niagara-on-the-Lake or visit one of the nearby wineries.
Riding Mountain National Park is located three hours north-west of Winnipeg with 3000 km2 of rugged nature to explore. The park surrounds the resort town of Wasagaming on the shores of Clear Lake. In the town, there is a number of shops, restaurants, a sandy beach, boats to rent and a golf course. Riding Mountain National Park has an extensive trail system that creates scenic routes for hiking, biking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing and birding. It is also filled with wildlife like the great black bear, elk, moose, and lynx, as well as approximately 30 plains bison that live in an enclosure by Lake Audy.
