This suspension comes following Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s announcement on Monday, March 16, 2020, imposing travel restrictions for all flights entering Canada to reduce the spread of COVID-19. The suspension will be in place until October 24, 2020.
These are extraordinary times, and we want to be sure our Swoop travellers are safe at home in Canada.

For those travellers who had transborder and international flights booked to depart on March 23, 2020, or later, we are reaching out directly via email with itinerary cancellation options.
For our domestic travellers, there are currently no restrictions in place for travelling within Canada. If we are given different direction from the Canadian Government will look to make any necessary changes then.
We are closely monitoring the evolving situation and remain in regular contact with the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), Transport Canada and other agencies to ensure that we are in alignment with their air travel recommendations.
Beginning on Monday, March 23, 2020, we will begin repatriation flights for all our Swoop travellers. Currently, we have organized 9 flights over 3 days to bring the more than 2,300 travellers home.
We will be providing regular updates to FlySwoop.com and are reaching out directly to these impacted travellers via email with more specific information.
Swoop has completed rescue flights to recover travellers who were outside of Canada. The intention of these flights was to repatriate travellers that were abroad and bring them home as efficiently and safely as possible.

We have organized 9 flights over 3 days to bring the more than 2,300 travellers home. These flights will operate Monday to Wednesday late March and we are reaching out to those impacted travellers by email with more specific information. A bulk of our travellers are currently in Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlán and Orlando, but repatriation flights will service other areas as well.
Swoop has arranged for 9 repatriation flights from Monday – Wednesday next week. We plan to help as many Swoop travellers as possible get home as safely and efficiently as possible.

Affected travellers are being rescheduled on earlier flights at no additional cost to them. In cases where Swoop is not able to send travellers back to their home airport, they’re being re-accommodated to their home airport on a subsequent Swoop flight.
