Check-in and baggage cut-off times
We don’t want you to miss out on your Swoop travel experience, but we cannot delay flights for late-comers. Please be aware of these firmly enforced cut-off times to avoid disappointment:
Check-in / baggage drop: Closes 45 minutes prior to departure
Oversized / Overweight baggage drop: Closes 90 minutes prior to departure
Boarding: Closes 15 minutes prior to departure
Travellers who fail to meet these cut-off requirements will be denied travel or baggage acceptance, with no exceptions. If you miss your flight, you'll be out of pocket for your airfare and fees, as well as any costs of rebooking.
Please keep in mind that these recommendations are minimums. Airport and security procedures often take much longer to complete, so please give yourself adequate time. Swoop is not responsible for missed flights, transfers, or any portion of onward travel due to late arrival at the gate.
Identification requirements
Don't let missing travel documents stop your plans short. If you do not have proper documentation for you or your children, you will not be allowed to board your flight.
Travellers of all ages require identification that matches the name and spelling on their ticket. You are responsible for making sure that you, and any child travelling with you, have the proper identification and travel documentation required to enter or connect through each country on your itinerary. Please consult with the nearest embassy or consulate of each country you plan to visit.
Travel within Canada
Identification must be presented during boarding at the gate and the name on the ID must match the name on the boarding pass. Also, Transport Canada requires every traveller 18 years of age and older to present original identification to board a domestic flight. A photocopy is NOT accepted.
Adults 18 years of age or older
One piece of valid (not expired) Canadian government-issued photo ID that includes name and date of birth.
OR
Two pieces of valid (not expired) Canadian government-issued non-photo ID (one of which must show name and date of birth). The names on the two pieces of ID must match. If the last names do not match due to a name change, you must present a marriage certificate or legal change of name certificate to verify the change.
If you have no Canadian government-issued photo ID you can use a passport, Nexus card, US permanent resident card or US enhanced driver's license, or international travel document like Laissez-Passer.
Expired licences, or accreditation documents e.g. "tradesman certificate" will not be accepted for air travel. Provincial regulations may differ for expired drivers licences, but Transport Canada mandates all identification be current (non-expired).
Infants (under two years of age)
Proof of age is required. If you do not have proof of age, you will be required to purchase a seat for your infant. A photocopy is acceptable.
Children
All children must be accompanied by an adult on Swoop operated flights until they reach their twelfth birthday. We strongly recommend that all children travel with one piece of government-issued identification.
Children travelling alone (12-17 years of age)
Your child may be denied boarding if they appear to be less than 12 years of age and are not able to present proof of age. We strongly recommend that all children travel with one piece of government-issued identification.

Requirements of government authorities
As mentioned in the Swoop Privacy Policy, we are required to collect personal information by government authorities in the U.S., Canada and other countries, and that information may be disclosed to those authorities without your knowledge or consent as required by law. It is the policy of Swoop to only collect and disclose what is required by law, and nothing further.
Lost or stolen passports
If your passport has been lost or stolen, contact the consulate/embassy of your issuing country immediately. Canadians can report a lost or stolen passport to the nearest Canadian embassy or consulate. Passports located or turned in to a Swoop representative will be returned to the originating country.
Security screening
We want you to get through security as quickly as possible. Have a look at the following points so your trip through will be smooth and easy.
Checked baggage containing items that are prohibited on board an aircraft may be opened by authorized security screeners for further inspection.
If further inspection is required, travellers departing a Canadian airport may be contacted by security to be present during the inspection of their baggage.
Reviewing restricted items will help in expediting the checked baggage screening process and will minimize the potential that you or your baggage will be delayed.
