To save money on your baggage or seat fees we recommend that travellers pay online during initial booking, manage booking, or during your online check in. At the airport, payments for fees can be made at the check-in counters with any of the payment options listed above.

How can I pay with Interac debit?

Interac debit is only accepted as a form of payment at some check-in counters in our Canadian airport locations.

Can I pay with a pre-paid credit card?

Swoop does not accept this form of payment on board, however you may purchase tickets and ancillaries online.

What are the rules on multiple payment types?

Swoop can accommodate multiple payment types online including up to one (1) credit card, one (1) Swoop Credit and one (1) Swoop Voucher. Please note that full payment is required to secure your booking. If you are unable to complete a booking, any partial payments will be refunded to the original form of payment, however it may take upwards of one week before the refund has been processed by your credit card provider.

Multi-currency payment

Multi-currency pricing (MCP) is available for Visa, MasterCard, Visa Debit, MasterCard Debit, Discover (CAD only), Diners (CAD only) and Amex card types and allows you the convenience to pay in Canadian Dollars (CAD) or United States Dollars (USD) on Canadian, U.S. and International originating flights. MCP is available on initial bookings and through the web check in flow. Any ancillaries or other payments required after initial booking will be in the currency applicable to the jurisdiction of the originating flight.

When payment is completed the currency for that transaction cannot be changed. MCP may not be available for all transactions, whether relating to the same or other bookings. Please note MCP is not available through the Contact Centre.

The currency exchange rate is based on current exchange rates and may include a margin as displayed on the payment page. Your card provider may charge an additional fee.

Swoop Credits

Swoop Credits are issued on the reusable portion of a cancelled itinerary. Swoop Credits are non-refundable deposits and can be used towards future travel bookings which will be applied to base fare, taxes and fees. Swoop Credits are issued to the primary adult traveller named on the cancelled itinerary. For US originating flight cancellations, Swoop credits will be issued in USD. Please note that credits from cancellations will always be denoted in the currency based on the first booking that was cancelled. Swoop Credits are non-transferable and expire 90 days after issuance.

How can I book using a Swoop Credit?

  • Swoop Credits are an acceptable form of payment and can be redeemed when booking online and through calling the Contact Centre (There is a $15 fee, plus applicable taxes for Swoop Credit redemption through the Swoop Contact Centre. This fee will be waived for requests that the website does not support).

  • To redeem your Swoop Credit, a future travel booking must be booked by the primary adult traveller listed on the originally cancelled itinerary.

Can my friend/spouse/mom/dad use my Swoop Credit?

Swoop Credits are non-transferable and require the primary adult traveller listed on the cancelled itinerary to book the future travel booking.

Can I extend my Swoop Credit?

Swoop Credits cannot be extended. They expire 24 months after issuance but can be used for travel dates beyond the expiration window.

Swoop Vouchers

Vouchers are issued by Swoop for Traveller compensation or marketing promotions and can be used towards future travel bookings on Swoop. Vouchers can typically be applied towards only base fares of a booking unless otherwise described on the voucher issued and may be restricted by items such as travel dates or destinations. Vouchers are non-transferable and expire 90 days after issuance unless otherwise noted.

My voucher says it is single use. What does that mean?

A single use voucher indicates that only one booking can be made utilizing that voucher identifier. For example if the voucher is for $200 and is used towards a base fare totaling $50 then the remaining $150 unused on the voucher is automatically forfeited.

What happens if I cancel a booking where a voucher was used?

Cancellations where a voucher was used as a form of payment will result in the voucher balance being forfeited. Please note that the majority of vouchers cannot be used towards fees such as cancellation fee.

How can I book using a Voucher?

Vouchers are an acceptable form of payment online and through the Contact Centre, but may be restricted in use as described on the voucher issued.
