Updated Schedule - The Swoop Sprint

One route. Four cities. Providing an essential service from coast to coast.

Swoop remains committed to providing Canadians with affordable access to essential air travel with a reduced domestic network providing coast-to-coast connectivity.

Due to the impact of COVID-19 on our operations, we are making some temporary changes to our network. Beginning on April 12, we will start offering through-flights from Halifax to Abbotsford, with stops in Hamilton and Edmonton. On other days of the week, we will be connecting eastbound travellers going from Abbotsford to Halifax with quick stops in Edmonton and Hamilton.

So what's a through-flight? If you're in Edmonton and need to get to Halifax, you can hop on a through-flight and with just one quick stop in Hamilton, we'll get you to the East Coast. All travellers are invited to remain on the aircraft during through-flights. There may be circumstances that require travellers to temporarily deplane, but your cabin crew will provide instructions should that situation arise.

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to keep Canadians and our crew safe, we've suspended onboard sales. Please make sure to bring snacks and beverages from home as services at airport may be limited as well.

  • How long are the stopovers?

The duration of your stopover will be displayed on your confirmation email.

  • How do I book a through-flight?

Simply select your desired origin and destination airports as your normally would. You'll see flight options on the Flight Availability page on FlySwoop.com. Select the departure and return you'd like, and when you click through to the payment page, you'll be shown the destination and duration of a stop, if one exists on your trip. Your itinerary confirmation email will also include details on the time and location of any scheduled stops.

  • If I check a bag, do I need to worry about it arriving at my destination?

Nope! You don't need to get off the aircraft at the scheduled stops, and your checked baggage doesn't need to either. When you check your bag at your origin airport, the baggage tag will indicate the end destination airport, and you'll be able to pick up your bag on the carousel upon arrival.

  • Do I need to pay for Extras for each leg of my trip?

Nope! If you've selected seats, or paid for a carry-on bag for your trip, your purchase applies to all legs on one direction of your journey. If you've booked a roundtrip, you'll need to purchase Extras for both the outbound and returning, which you can do either at the time of initial booking or through Manage My Booking after you've purchased your flight. If you've purchased and selected a seat, that will be your seat for all legs of your trip.

  • Can I make changes to a through-flight?

If you've added ModiFly to your booking, you can use ModiFly to make a one-time date/time change to your booking, so long as the origin and destination remain the same. If you don't have ModiFly on your booking, you can still make changes to your booking for a fee.

  • When can I check-in?

Online check-in for your through-flight will open 24 hours prior to the departure time of the initial leg of your trip. You will be able to check-in for all legs of your journey. You will receive one boarding pass, which will be your boarding pass for all legs of your trip.

  • How long will through-flights be running for?

These network and schedule adjustments are temporary and could change as more information becomes known.

  • What is essential travel?

Essential travel looks different for everyone. There's no one size fits all definition. It is a personal decision based on the unique circumstances of each individual and a decision they have to make based on the best information from government and health officials. Our only hope is that individuals take into consideration the impact they may be having on others and the wider community.

  • What is the frequency of The Swoop Sprint?

The Swoop Sprint will operate on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. On Sundays and Thursdays, it will run from Hamilton to Abbotsford and back and then continue on to Halifax. On Mondays and Fridays, it will operate from Halifax to Abbotsford and then back to Hamilton.
