Why Jamaica? Is Jamaica considered safe?
Jamaica’s comprehensive response to COVID-19 controls entry and manages movement with Resilient Corridors to limit risk and protect tourists and residents. Non-residents of Jamaica are required to consult the Controlled Entry Programme and apply online for a Travel Authorization which can be submitted beginning 5 days prior to departure: https://travelauth.visitjamaica.com/
What is a Resilient Corridor? How does this protect travellers and staff?
Jamaica’s Resilient Corridors were created to encourage safe movement and responsible tourism practices as per the COVID-19 protocols dictated by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC). Within the Resilient Corridor, all hotels have been inspected and approved to be compliant with requirements around sanitation and disinfection, social distancing, mandating masks, and regular confirmation that all guests and employees are symptom-free (including conducting temperature checks). All employees and patrons of the properties within the corridor are required to wear masks in public spaces, maintain social distancing, and follow hand hygiene protocols.
Why is Swoop requiring travellers to be tested prior to travel?
The addition of pre-travel testing requirements for Trusted Travel Getaways is designed to offer travellers enhanced peace of mind and confidence as they set out to enjoy their holiday. Trusted Travel Getaways include complimentary access to mandatory pre-travel COVID-19 testing to ensure that all passengers on board a departing Trusted Travel Getaway flight have proof of a negative COVID-19 test prior to departure.
How does pre-travel testing work?
Swoop is providing travellers access to pre-travel testing at no additional charge to ensure all passengers on board a departing Trusted Travel Getaway flight have proof of a negative COVID-19 test prior to departure. Tests that are approved by Health Canada will be administered by a leading medical laboratory service provider, and further details on testing will be provided in short order. Travellers with confirmed Trusted Travel Getaways bookings will be contacted by email with further instructions on accessing testing and Screening Clinic dates, times and locations.
When will travellers learn more about pre-travel testing?

Travellers who book within 14 days departure will receive the email with testing booking instructions within 24 hours.
Is testing required to go to Jamaica? If not, why offer/require pre-travel testing?
A negative COVID-19 test is not currently required for Canadians to enter Jamaica. As part of the Trusted Travel Getaways pilot program, Swoop is requiring and providing a pre-travel COVID-19 test as a means of offering travellers enhanced confidence and peace of mind.
